Title: TL074L replacement
Post by: tgs76 on August 17, 2022, 10:36:36 AM
Hi all,
I have had a problem with an MP573 that I built recently where the LED doesn't work. I just found some time to troubleshoot it and noticed a glaring mistake: I've put on the TL074L backwards. :P I'll try to desolder it but I don't anticipate much luck with that. So I'm looking for a replacement but in the store I normally order from (Elfa/Distrelec in Sweden) don't have that exact model. What they have are TL074CDT and TL074IDT, both SMD and smaller. Also did a search on Mouser although a bit wasteful to order from them for a 1€ part) but they don't seem to have it either actually.

Any recommended replacement? I've Googled a bit but admittedly I'm a bit novice so I'm not exactly sure what to look for.

Do not try to desolder it! You will very likely damage the PCB.
Cut the 14 pins, remove the pins by tapping the PCB while the solder is hot and remove the solder from the holes with a desoldering pump.

Thanks JP! I managed to get a TL074 from Volker. I'll remove the current one as suggested. I might as well order some sockets while I'm at it, always good to have.

I don't think you can put a socket here because the allowed height is limited by the DI board above.

Aware of that and will test before soldering anything in place.
