Hi JP. Hope you're well.
I have a customer who says his first Gen 573 starts making scratchy noises once it gets up to temperature.
Works for about 1 30 seconds then fails then doesn't deliver any audio. Just noise.
Can you point me to some basic troubleshooting? He was running it in a Midas L6.
But he has checked the other 573 in the lunchbox in the same slot and its working so he is very sure it is a problem with the preamp.
Best, Matt

First check the unit in a lunchbox that has another module in. If the other module still works when the MP573 fails, then the issue is not in the lunchbox.

This is often caused by a bad solder joint the gets worth when getting warm.
Try reflowing the joints around the power transistor.
Next, try to follow the signal (https://www.soundskulptor.com/forum/index.php?topic=5.msg5#msg5) when it fails.
